The Abbotsford Airshow - an Amazing Experience

When I was a little girl, my parents took me to the Abbotsford Airshow. I will never forget the excitement I felt standing in a HUGE cargo plane - the nose of the plane even OPENED. Living a few hours from the border of British Columbia, we did a quick, fun, weekend family road trip.

My son is fascinated by aviation and loves flying, so I knew we had to take him to the show. It blew his mind - seeing the military planes up close, including the newer version of that same cargo plane I stood in when I was little. He had the chance speak to the F-22 pilot, which was the biggest highlight of his trip.

They also had a STEM area where they had a lot of different activities, but my son's favorite was, by far, the flight simulator. *Proud Mamma moment here* The person helping said he was a natural.

I’m still fascinated by the power and size of the airplanes, but, ultimately, my favorite part of the trip was watching my son watch the air show with amazement.
